Terms of use
Last updated 31 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and innonova GmbH, the Swiss company that makes Measur, for using the Measur app and this website. They say what you can count on from us, what we ask of you, and what Measur is not.
They come in two kinds: our promises about your data, in section 2, which only ever change in your favour unless you say yes, and everything else, which describes Measur as it works today and may change as Measur does, with notice first (section 11).
1. Who and what these terms cover
- Who we are - innonova GmbH, Sagenrainstrasse 35, 8320 Fehraltorf, Switzerland, makes Measur and runs this website.
- What they cover - the Measur app on iPhone, iPad and Android, the Measur server it talks to, and measur.me. Using any of them means you accept these terms. What happens to your data is set out in the privacy policy.
- Who can use Measur - people aged 18 and over.
- The store you got it from - on iPhone and iPad, you use Measur under Apple's standard licence for apps, and these terms add to it; where the two disagree about that licence, Apple's applies. On Android, what you buy through Google Play is also governed by Google Play's terms.
2. Our promises about your data
These hold from the day you start using Measur. A change that would weaken one waits for your yes, and without it the promise stands for you as it was.
- Your diary is yours - the meals, photos, weigh-ins and everything else in your diary belong to you. We use them only as the privacy policy describes, and claim no other right to them.
- On your phone unless you choose - Measur keeps your food diary on your phone unless you choose otherwise.
- Never sold - your data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone for their own purposes. The one exception is the law: if a court or authority lawfully orders us to hand something over, we hand over only what the order requires. And if Measur were ever sold, your data would move only under the privacy policy, and you would be told first.
- Always yours to take or delete - exporting your whole diary, erasing it from your phone and deleting your account never need a subscription, and stay open whatever happens to your plan.
- Told before it changes - when a change means something new leaves your phone or someone new sees it, the app tells you before it happens.
3. Estimates, not medical advice
- Every number is an estimate - the calories and nutrients Measur gives you, from a photo, a description, a menu, a barcode or a food table, are estimates, and any of them can be wrong. Check what matters to you against the pack or the scales.
- Not medical advice - Measur's targets and coach, and this website's calculator and blog, are information for adults. None of it is medical, dietary or treatment advice for you, and Measur is not a medical device.
- Ask a professional first - talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before a big change to how you eat, and always if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have or have had an eating disorder, or live with a condition that what you eat affects, such as diabetes or kidney disease.
- The AI can be wrong - the coach and every other AI feature can be mistaken or incomplete. Never delay or ignore a professional's advice because of something Measur said.
- Medication - the medication card is a record of what you log, never advice on a medicine, its dose or its timing.
4. Measur Pro, and paying for it
- The tracker - without a subscription, Measur's tracker keeps working: logging by search, barcode or an amount you type, your targets, weigh-ins, Progress and sync.
- Measur Pro - a subscription that adds the AI features: meal and menu photos, a meal described in a sentence, the coach, Fix with AI and the others the app marks as Pro. The plans differ only in how long they run, and each one unlocks all of Pro.
- Trying it first - your first days with Measur come with everything on, and every plan starts with seven days free from the store, once per store account.
- Paying - you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, which shows you the price in your currency before you confirm and takes the payment. Measur never sees your card. Subscribing needs a sync account.
- Renewing and cancelling - a plan renews by itself at the end of each period until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, which Settings > Account & data in Measur opens for you. Cancel at least 24 hours before the first charge or a renewal to stop it; Pro then stays on until the end of the period you are in, and the tracker and everything you logged stay yours. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds and prices - refunds are the store's to give, under its own rules, so ask Apple or Google. If a price changes, the store tells you before it applies to you.
5. Using Measur fairly
- Your own use - Measur is for your own personal use. Do not resell it or rent it out, or copy, change or take apart the app beyond what the law allows you.
- By hand, not by machine - use Measur through the app. No bots, scripts or scraping of the Measur server, its AI or its food data. An AI assistant you connect with a code from the app is welcome: that door was built for it.
- Fair limits - so that Measur stays available and affordable for everyone, it limits how much any one account or connection can ask of the AI and the server in a day, and while Measur is full, new phones may wait in line to be let in.
- Nothing that harms - do not use Measur to break the law, to get around Pro or its limits, to reach anyone else's account or data, or to disrupt Measur for others.
- This website - the words, pictures and recordings on measur.me belong to innonova or to the people we license them from. Those in the press kit are there for writing about Measur, used the way it says.
6. What you share, and what you add
- Your table and your links - the people at your table see the meals you log at the times you chose, and a link you share is open to anyone who has it. Share only what you are happy for them to see, and nothing that is not yours to share.
- Products you add or put right - a product you add, or a name, nutrition values, a pack photo or a pack size you put right, can become part of Measur's food data, shown to everyone who finds that product. It is not part of your diary: you let us keep, show and edit it for good, and it stays when you delete your account.
- A name on the contributor board - if you choose a name to show beside your points, it must be yours to use and fit for a public page, and we may hide one that is not.
- Ideas you send us - we may use any idea or feedback you send us, and owe nothing for it.
7. Your account, and keeping your diary safe
- With sync off - your diary exists only on your phone. We hold no copy, so a lost, broken or reset phone, or deleting the app, takes it with it unless you exported it first.
- With sync on - your diary is kept in your account and backed up daily. We work to keep it safe, but no service can rule out every loss, so keep an export of anything you could not do without.
- Your sign-in - your account opens through your email address, or through Apple or Google, so keep those safe: whoever controls them can reach your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has.
8. When Measur changes, and when it stops
- Measur changes - we add, change and sometimes remove features, and the AI models and food tables behind them change too.
- As it is, as available - we work to keep Measur running and its numbers sound, but we offer it as it is and as available, without a promise that it is always reachable, that it never fails or that every number is right.
- Other people's part - food data comes from the sources on our credits page and from what Measur users add, and the AI's answers from an AI company that works for us. We cannot vouch for every entry. An AI assistant you connect works under its own provider's terms.
- You can stop at any time - delete the app and, with sync, your account in Settings > Account & data. A subscription is cancelled in the store (section 4).
- We can stop your access - if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may limit or close your account or your phone's access to the Measur server. Where the law and safety allow, we tell you first and why, and the diary on your phone stays yours.
9. What we are responsible for
- The limit - as far as the law allows, our liability for anything to do with Measur is limited to what you paid for Measur Pro in the twelve months before the claim.
- What is never limited - nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for harm to life, body or health, or for anything the law where you live does not let us limit, and nothing takes away a right your consumer law gives you.
10. The law, and disagreements
- Swiss law - Swiss law governs these terms, and the courts of the canton of Zürich, Switzerland, decide any dispute about them, except where the next point says otherwise.
- Where you live - if you use Measur as a consumer, you keep the protection your own country's law gives you and cannot sign away. You may bring a claim before the courts where you live, and we can bring one against you only there.
- Talk to us first - most things are put right fastest by writing to measur@measur.me.
11. Changes to these terms
- How you hear - when these terms change, the date at the top moves. Before a change that matters takes effect, we tell you in the app or in the store's release notes, and using Measur after that means you accept it. If you do not, you can stop using Measur and take your diary with you first.
- Our promises - a change that would weaken a promise in section 2 waits for your yes, as that section says.
- Questions - about these terms or anything else, write to measur@measur.me. The support page says more.
